FAE is producing the widest range of professional mulchers for excavator application ("EX" models). The most requested models are the UML/EX and FML/EX as they fit to many excavator models. In fact their ideal application is on excavators with a flywheel engine power of 90 to 130 HP. The difference between the "U" and the "F" models is the rotor. The "U" models have a fixed teeth tungsten carbide tipped rotor; the "F" models have a swinging hammers rotor (with tungsten carbide tips on option).
Working in equal or similar conditions, the fixed teeth rotor versus the swinging hammers one, has more efficiency in grinding any kind of wooden material such as stumps, whole trees, branches, bushes etc. Although, has 3-4 times the expected lifetime versus a cast steel swinging hammer.
These models are the ideal equipment to clear and maintain canals and right-of-ways, use in the construction industry mulching wood residues therefore reducing the volume, clearing brush from railways, and other kinds of clearing work where the access and working conditions are too steep and difficult. Both kind of models (with fixed teeth and with free swinging hammer rotors), are able to mulch or grind up to 6 inches in diameter. Option: dedicated excavator attachment plate.
